Ho creato questo set in Polyvore ispirata dalla cover di Vogue Italia di questo mese, dedicata ad una bellezza lontana dai canoni proposti dal mondo del fashion, una bellezza "vera" appunto, a dimostrazione di come si possa essere ugualmente seducenti pur non entrando in una taglia 38.

I created this set in Polyvore inspired by Vogue Italia cover of this month, dedicated to a kind of beauty far from the standards of the fashion world, a "real beauty" indeed, with the aim to show how you can be attractive though you are not an "xs" size.

Lady Gaga Queen of Rome Wearing Gianni Versace

Lady Gaga performed in Rome at EuroPride yesterday, wearing a gown designed by Gianni Versace before he died.

The 25-year-old singer performed two stripped down versions of her hit songs “Born This Way” and “The Edge of Glory” while accompanying herself on the piano.

Über-Models Reunion for Duran Duran new Video

Last Monday, supermodels Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Eva Herzigova, and Helena Christensen joined Yasmin Le Bon for the shooting of Duran Duran's  video for "Girl Panic."

Directed by Jonas Ackerlund (Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi" video and Kate Moss Dior Addict commercial), the video was filmed in central London "at a posh hotel," with Crawford riding in the back of a Rolls Royce and the supermodels performing as the band.

Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana were also on the set.

The video is expected to be serialized virally online before premiering in whole later this year.

Kate Middleton's Stunning Style Last Night

Kate Middleton was totally stunning in a sequinned gown from Jenny Packham’s S/S ’11 collection for for the Absolute Return for Kids (Ark) event, at Kensington Palace last night.

The Duchess of Cambridge  finished the look with LK Bennett shoes and a pink satin clutch. Lovely as ever.

Ho deciso di selezionare parecchie foto dalla sfilata della collezione Dolce & Gabbana per il prossimo autunno-inverno, perché tanti sono gli spunti. La collezione propone  il tema del maschile-femminile alternando tubini e abiti-corsetto a gilet, giacche e pantaloni. L'ispirazione va dagli anni '20 di "C'era una volta in America", al rockabilly anni '50, fino al glam rock anni '70, fra stelle, pailletes, pizzo, pellicce, note musicali, bianco-nero e flash di colori acidi.

Le scarpe sono piatte, stringate oppure classici stiletto indossati con calze da uomo.

I decided to select an extensive number of shots from the Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2011 collection show, because so many are the ideas. The collection is based on the theme of masculine-feminine, alternating sheath and corset dresses to vests, jackets and trousers. The inspiration runs through the 20's of "Once upon a time in America", the rockabilly of the 50's up to the glam rock of the 70's, among stars, sequins, lace, furs, musical notes, black-white and flashes of acid colors. Shoes are flat with laces or classic stilettos worn with socks.

Kate e Michelle si sono incontrate a Buckingham Palace lo scorso 24 Maggio, un incontro fra due donne moderne e due icone di stile dei nostri tempi. 

Kate è apparsa elegante, sofisticata e sicura di sé in un abito della catena inglese Reiss, ormai praticamente introvabile, ma altrimenti alla portata di tutte visto che il prezzo è inferiore alle 200 sterline. Michelle, più formale, ha scelto un abito della collezione Resort 2011 firmato dalla designer Barbara Tfank.

Adoro entrambe queste donne, naturalmente eleganti ed espressione di un glam contemporaneo,  che non temono di attingere dalla moda più accessibile, mantenendo sempre classe e buon gusto. Cosa ne pensate?

Kate and Michelle met at Buckingham Palace last 24th May, and this was the meeting between two modern women and two fashion icons of our times. Kate looked elegant, sophisticated and self-confident in a dress by the English chain Reiss, which is now unavailable anywhere, but  that would be affordable to anyone considered the price of less than £ 200. Michelle was more formal, wearing a dress of the Resort 2011 collection signed by designer Barbara Tfank. 

I adore both these women, naturally elegant and expression of a contemporary glam, with no fear to draw from the high-street fashion, but still showing good taste and staying classy.  What do you think?

A New Italian Designer: Elena Leone Winner of "Next Generation" Contest

 

Elena Leone is the winner of the contest "Next Generation", by the Italian Fashion Chamber (Camera Nazionale della Moda). Here are some shots of her collection for next Fall, dedicated to a woman who seems to embody the spirit of a brave but still romantic warrior. The collection name is "the last Winter" and it has been inspired by the Mayan prophecy on the end of the world on December 2012.  I think the collection is remarkable, with some pieces that I would definitely wear, what do you think? Is a new star born?

Questi sono alcuni scatti della sua collezione per il prossimo Autunno, dedicato ad una donna che sembra incarnare lo spirito di una guerriera coraggiosa ma romantica. Il nome della collezione, "L'ultimo Inverno", è stato ispirato dalla profezia Maya sulla fine del mondo del Dicembre 2012. Credo che la collezione sia notevole, con alcuni pezzi che senz'altro indosserei. Cosa ne pensate? E' nata una stella?

A Style Icon: Jaqueline Kennedy Onassis

Talking of fashion, a due tribute goes to Jaqueline Kennedy Onassis, the ultimate icon of effortless chic, always perfect in every occasion, from off-duty to formal events, she brought the style to Capitol Hill (and we had to wait for another beautiful and strong woman, Michelle Obama, to see this again...).

14-year-old actress Hailee Steinfeld will be the new face of one of my favorite brands, Miu Miu. This young artist was nominated for an Academy Award as best supporting actress for the role she played in 2010 film "True Grit". After Katie Holmes, Vanessa Paradis, Lindsay Lohan and Kirsten Dunst, this rising star is now called to be the next muse for Miuccia Prada most modern and avant-garde label.

L'attrice quattordicenne Hailee Steinfeld sarà il nuovo volto di uno dei miei brand preferiti, Miu Miu. Questa giovane artista era stata nominata all'Oscar come miglior attrice non protagonista, per il ruolo interpretato nel film "Il Grinta" del 2010. Punk glam firstly emerged in 2010 and it is still a strong trend for this season.

But how can we take the best from punk inspiration, while we look at the over-exposure of skulls everywhere? We want to be edgy and cool but we do not want to look like Sid Vicious after all...

Time For Beach in Italy: Beachwear I love

Finally a sunny Sunday today, so while I am getting ready to go to the beach I wish you all a relaxing time by posting some pieces of beautiful beachwear by french brand Eres, that is probably my favourite one for bikinis (yes I love the "basic" on the beach...!)

I already talked of this subject here by suggesting the perfect choices for the honeymoon beach wardrobe for Kate Duchess of Cambridge, which included italian labels Missoni Mare and La Perla.

Karl Lagerfeld Film "The Tale of a Fairy" Shock: the Trailer

Karl Lagerfeld unveiled his last project "The Tale of a Fairy", a 30'minutes film in black and white. 

The film will be shown next Monday 9th May at Hotel du Cap Eden Roc in Cap d'Antibes, for the presentation of Chanel Croisière 2012 collection.

The film is about money abuse, violence and love and, as Karl Lagerfeld stated, could be shocking for someone.

The runaway theme of the brand of the year Alexander McQueen was "The Ice Queen and her court". The outfits were nothing easy wearable in our everyday life, they were pure dreams, fascinating dreams where we would love to loose ourselves... Into the Cover: Vogue Italia May 2011 by Steven Meisel

"Swimwear" is the headline on Vogue Italia cover this month, with a beautiful Kristen McMenamy wearing a John Richmond bikini. However, the atmosphere is everything but sunny and hot, and the top model is a kind of bohemian ice queen sitting by a window on a luminous, blue-grey and certainly freezing New York. Going through the pages, you see that the inspiration comes from the 70's, within the fascinating environment of the historic Chelsea Hotel and the artists, rockers and poets who lived in its rooms.

Fashion and Fitness?

I am not only a fashion maniac, I am also a great fan of fitness and specifically I am a freaky enthusiast of  Les Mills programs.

Fitness and fashion can go together, why not? My very best friend always tells me I like Les Mills because it is a kind of “signature” fitness, I like this explanation but I must say that the reason why I love it, lies all in its effectiveness combined with the amazing degree of fun and energy you are into every time you attend one of the classes.

Today I am so happy I have received the delivery of my first on-line order @Les Mills boutique.

I was a bit concerned about the sizing, but both tops are perfectly fitting and I just love them, especially the yellow one with the BodyAttack logo (Body Attack is the class I love most, I am literally addicted to it…).

I also love the “for a fitter planet” bracelets… I am going to the gym now… Hugs

The theme of this year's Costume Institute exhibit and last night MET gala is "Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty," honoring the genius of the British couturier.

Unsurprisingly, most guests paid homage to the unforgotten stylist, being dressed by McQueen.

Prada Windows in Milan Store: Another Look at SS11 Runway Collection

Here is one of the windows now at Prada in Milan, a vintage-style fan installed over the striped bags, the iconic pieces of this season.

Do you all remember the quite astonished feeling after the first view of SS11 Prada runway images? "Minimal Baroque" was how she defined it and well, that was it: jungle prints, bananas and monkeys, solid blocks of primary colours, then the theme of stripes in bright colours combination or smokey hues, flashes of electric orange, green, blue, and radioactive violet all accessorized with pop coloured stoles and striped satchels or clutches. Have a look at the gallery of the numbers I have selected among the pieces I liked best: excessive but sophisticated...

Royal Honeymoon: Which Beachwear Brands for Duchess Kate?

The Royal honeymoon has been delayed for a while, but accordingly to rumours going on before the wedding, Catherine Duchess of Cambridge had already visited the beachwear department at Harrods time ago.

I really hope she chose some of my favourite brands there available such as Pucci, La Perla and Missoni Mare. Here to follow a gallery of some lovely pieces of the labels, that would suit beautifully on her.

Since last week, a charity bracelet has debuted at Gucci stores throughout Japan.

From May on, the bracelet will be available in Gucci flagship stores across the United States, Europe, and Asia. The donation of all sales will support the recovery efforts in Japan. 

Dalla scorsa settimana, il bracciale a sostegno del Giappone ha fatto il suo debutto in quel paese.

Dal mese di maggio, il bracciale diventa disponibile negli stores Gucci di Stati Uniti, Europa e resto dell'Asia.

I bought a lovely Givenchy Nightingale bag (purchase that inspired my previous post here) then I had an aperitivo with my husband at the beutiful dehor of Hotel De Russie.
