Spring Trend: Balenciaga and Balmain Celebrate the Punk Glam

Punk glam firstly emerged in 2010 and it is still a strong trend for this season.

But how can we take the best from punk inspiration, while we look at the over-exposure of skulls everywhere? We want to be edgy and cool but we do not want to look like Sid Vicious after all...

Time For Beach in Italy: Beachwear I love

Finally a sunny Sunday today, so while I am getting ready to go to the beach I wish you all a relaxing time by posting some pieces of beautiful beachwear by french brand Eres, that is probably my favourite one for bikinis (yes I love the "basic" on the beach...!)

I already talked of this subject here by suggesting the perfect choices for the honeymoon beach wardrobe for Kate Duchess of Cambridge, which included italian labels Missoni Mare and La Perla.

Into the Cover: Vogue Italia May 2011 by Steven Meisel

"Swimwear" is the headline on Vogue Italia cover this month, with a beautiful Kristen McMenamy wearing a John Richmond bikini. However, the atmosphere is everything but sunny and hot, and the top model is a kind of bohemian ice queen sitting by a window on a luminous, blue-grey and certainly freezing New York. Going through the pages, you see that the inspiration comes from the 70's, within the fascinating environment of the historic Chelsea Hotel and the artists, rockers and poets who lived in its rooms.

Prada Windows in Milan Store: Another Look at SS11 Runway Collection

Here is one of the windows now at Prada in Milan, a vintage-style fan installed over the striped bags, the iconic pieces of this season.

Do you all remember the quite astonished feeling after the first view of SS11 Prada runway images? "Minimal Baroque" was how she defined it and well, that was it: jungle prints, bananas and monkeys, solid blocks of primary colours, then the theme of stripes in bright colours combination or smokey hues, flashes of electric orange, green, blue, and radioactive violet all accessorized with pop coloured stoles and striped satchels or clutches. Royal Honeymoon: Which Beachwear Brands for Duchess Kate?

The Royal honeymoon has been delayed for a while, but accordingly to rumours going on before the wedding, Catherine Duchess of Cambridge had already visited the beachwear department at Harrods time ago.
