Lady Gaga Queen of Rome Wearing Gianni Versace

Lady Gaga performed in Rome at EuroPride yesterday, wearing a gown designed by Gianni Versace before he died.

The 25-year-old singer performed two stripped down versions of her hit songs “Born This Way” and “The Edge of Glory” while accompanying herself on the piano.

Über-Models Reunion for Duran Duran new Video

Last Monday, supermodels Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Eva Herzigova, and Helena Christensen joined Yasmin Le Bon for the shooting of Duran Duran's  video for "Girl Panic."

Directed by Jonas Ackerlund (Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi" video and Kate Moss Dior Addict commercial), the video was filmed in central London "at a posh hotel," with Crawford riding in the back of a Rolls Royce and the supermodels performing as the band.

Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana were also on the set.

The video is expected to be serialized virally online before premiering in whole later this year.

Kate Middleton's Stunning Style Last Night

Kate Middleton was totally stunning in a sequinned gown from Jenny Packham’s S/S ’11 collection for for the Absolute Return for Kids (Ark) event, at Kensington Palace last night.

The Duchess of Cambridge  finished the look with LK Bennett shoes and a pink satin clutch. Lovely as ever.

Kate e Michelle si sono incontrate a Buckingham Palace lo scorso 24 Maggio, un incontro fra due donne moderne e due icone di stile dei nostri tempi. 

Kate è apparsa elegante, sofisticata e sicura di sé in un abito della catena inglese Reiss, ormai praticamente introvabile, ma altrimenti alla portata di tutte visto che il prezzo è inferiore alle 200 sterline. Michelle, più formale, ha scelto un abito della collezione Resort 2011 firmato dalla designer Barbara Tfank.

Adoro entrambe queste donne, naturalmente eleganti ed espressione di un glam contemporaneo,  che non temono di attingere dalla moda più accessibile, mantenendo sempre classe e buon gusto. Cosa ne pensate?

Kate and Michelle met at Buckingham Palace last 24th May, and this was the meeting between two modern women and two fashion icons of our times. Kate looked elegant, sophisticated and self-confident in a dress by the English chain Reiss, which is now unavailable anywhere, but  that would be affordable to anyone considered the price of less than £ 200. Michelle was more formal, wearing a dress of the Resort 2011 collection signed by designer Barbara Tfank. 

I adore both these women, naturally elegant and expression of a contemporary glam, with no fear to draw from the high-street fashion, but still showing good taste and staying classy.  What do you think?

A New Italian Designer: Elena Leone Winner of "Next Generation" Contest

 

Elena Leone is the winner of the contest "Next Generation", by the Italian Fashion Chamber (Camera Nazionale della Moda). Here are some shots of her collection for next Fall, dedicated to a woman who seems to embody the spirit of a brave but still romantic warrior. The collection name is "the last Winter" and it has been inspired by the Mayan prophecy on the end of the world on December 2012.  I think the collection is remarkable, with some pieces that I would definitely wear, what do you think? Is a new star born?

Elena Leone è la vincitrice del concorso "Next Generation", indetto dalla Camera Nazionale della Moda. Questi sono alcuni scatti della sua collezione per il prossimo Autunno, dedicato ad una donna che sembra incarnare lo spirito di una guerriera coraggiosa ma romantica. Il nome della collezione, "L'ultimo Inverno", è stato ispirato dalla profezia Maya sulla fine del mondo del Dicembre 2012. Credo che la collezione sia notevole, con alcuni pezzi che senz'altro indosserei. Cosa ne pensate? E' nata una stella?

14-year-old actress Hailee Steinfeld will be the new face of one of my favorite brands, Miu Miu. This young artist was nominated for an Academy Award as best supporting actress for the role she played in 2010 film "True Grit". After Katie Holmes, Vanessa Paradis, Lindsay Lohan and Kirsten Dunst, this rising star is now called to be the next muse for Miuccia Prada most modern and avant-garde label.

L'attrice quattordicenne Hailee Steinfeld sarà il nuovo volto di uno dei miei brand preferiti, Miu Miu. Questa giovane artista era stata nominata all'Oscar come miglior attrice non protagonista, per il ruolo interpretato nel film "Il Grinta" del 2010. Dopo Katie Holmes, Vanessa Paradis, Lindsay Lohan e Kirsten Dunst, questa stella nascente è ora chiamata ad essere la prossima musa per l'etichetta più moderna e avant-garde di Miuccia Prada.

The theme of this year's Costume Institute exhibit and last night MET gala is "Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty," honoring the genius of the British couturier.

Unsurprisingly, most guests paid homage to the unforgotten stylist, being dressed by McQueen.

Gucci for Japan Charity Bracelet

Since last week, a charity bracelet has debuted at Gucci stores throughout Japan.

From May on, the bracelet will be available in Gucci flagship stores across the United States, Europe, and Asia. The donation of all sales will support the recovery efforts in Japan. 

Dalla scorsa settimana, il bracciale a sostegno del Giappone ha fatto il suo debutto in quel paese.

Dal mese di maggio, il bracciale diventa disponibile negli stores Gucci di Stati Uniti, Europa e resto dell'Asia. 

Il ricavato di tutte le vendite sarà destinato a supportare l'impegno per la ricostruzione dopo il terremoto.

Royal Wedding: Are We Ready for Some Brit Pop? I am...!!!

After months of speculations and rumours on Kate Middleton's wedding dress, here we are: less than an hour to go... and we still do not know it for sure... though accordingly to latest news it will be an Alexander McQueen. Proof is the fact that Sarah Burton, designer of the label,  was photographed entering the Goring Hotel yesterday. We cannot wait anymore, let's go and God Save the Queen!
